*2006 Robert Biale Royal Punishers Petite Sirah
Robert Biale Vineyards Royal Punishers Petite Sirah, Napa Valley, USA 2006
Dark nose and body that smells like raspberry when you feel the glass. The nose is quite strong on alcohol and I get a toasted bread and dark fruits which you also find In the body together with blackberries and maybe some fire . The tannins are also medium high and last a long time.
The 2006 Petite Sirah Royal Punishers displays the color of pen ink. Moderately intense aromas of new oak, blackberries, blueberries, pepper, and flowers emerge from this 2006. The least impressive effort, but still outstanding. (RP)
Perfecting the old California classics, Robert Biale Vineyards has become a revered standard of heritage Vineyard Zinfandel and Petite Sirah in Napa Valley. Napa natives, school chums, and winery Founders, Bob Biale and Dave Pramuk, cherish the tradition of historic old vines (some dating to the 1880’s!) and prize the small quantity of concentrated and intense fruit that they produce. Diligent farming, expressive terroir, and superb elegance are the winery’s hallmarks. Among the winery’s portfolio of 20 wines that are crafted by winemaker Tres Goetting, Black Chicken Zinfandel is the flagship – and has become a benchmark for the varietal.
