*2010 Grgich Hills Yountville Cabernet Sauvignon
Grgich Hills Estate Yountville Selection Cabernet Sauvignon, 2010
The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Yountville Selection (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) reveals sexy, open-knit, meaty, charcuterie and black currant aromas and flavors. Rich with blackberries, cassis and mocha with a long, elegant finish, this is a full-bodied and well balanced Cabernet Sauvignon.
The winery makes this wine from vines planted in 1959 that it now farms organically. In this vintage, they produced a hearty, sizable wine, ripe, soft and intense, in need of time to coax the blackberry and cassis fruit forward. Enjoy through 2025.Cellar Selection (WE)
The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Yountville Selection (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) reveals sexy, open-knit, meaty, charcuterie and black currant aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied with silky tannins, abundant fruit, complexity and finesse, it is hard to resist at present, and should continue to evolve for 10-15 years. (RP)
We’re proud to be the custodians to some of the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines in the Napa Valley. Our Yountville Cabernet Sauvignon vines were planted in 1959 to the Inglenook clone (also known as Niebaum CabernetSauvignon #29) on St. George rootstock. More than a half century old, these vines have developed a root system that reaches deep into the subsoil to access all the available nutrients. They produce fewer grapes at this age but more concentrated, intense flavors that express a greated depth of terroir and complexity.)
