Kokomo Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County, USA

Kokomo Zinfandel gives a ravishing display of ruby red color that leads into a pleasant bouquet of blackberry fruit, cocoa, and holiday spice. While sipping, your palette will be delighted by blackberries and plum, refined tannins, a full body and a finish that lingers.

Spicy and refined in black and white pepper, this memorable red traffics in all the classic characteristics of leather and tobacco with dark, brooding red and black fruit. Medium in body and length, it finishes with a refreshing element of black cherry and cola, calling out for barbecued meat treated with the same care.

Ripe and jammy, with black raspberry and plum fruit, plus accents of spicy caramel and smoky sage.

Our Dry Creek Zinfandel is comprised of fruit from three different vineyards: Mizany Vineyard, Timber Crest Vineyard, and Pauline’s Vineyard. Although all are located in Dry Creek Valley, the different vineyards bring three unique wines with their own distinct personalities. Mizany Vineyard is planted to the DuPratt clone of Zinfandel, which has a spicier character with a darker fruit profile. Timber Crest and Pauline’s Vineyards are both planted to the old mother-clone of Dry Creek, but are grown on two very different sites. Pauline’s Vineyard is on the valley floor in the famous Cortina gravelly loam, while Timber Crest Vineyard, the oldest of all three vineyards, is planted on the East Bench behind our winery. We take a lot of pride that Dry Creek is known to grow the best Zinfandel in the world, and we feel like blending these three different vineyards gives us an overall picture of the special terroir that is Dry Creek Valley.
