Wine Country Wildfires

Kincade Fire Update

Dear Friends,

So many of you have reached out to us regarding the wildfires once again ravaging our beautiful state. We sincerely appreciate your messages and kind thoughts, thank you! We thought this would be the best way to give you an update with what is going on for all of us.

On Saturday, October 26th, we harvested the last of the remaining grapes (Cabernet), crushed them, and hung up our coats on the 2019 growing season. An exciting and gratifying accomplishment to be sure! At 4am the next day, Brian, Adi, and family were evacuated from their Sonoma County home and headed to the vineyard to "take shelter." We've all been here since then.

Close to 200,000 people have been evacuated from Sonoma County, almost all of those without power, and that situation continues; we are on a generator currently at the vineyard. The Sheriff has announced a "repopulation" of West County (on the coast), however those folks will remain on "evacuation warning" for the foreseeable future.

Compounding matters, wildfires in the East Bay - where Mike and Terry call home - began popping up and causing lots of destruction there. Thankfully those are now all under control and power to those communities are being restored, though significant damage has been done.

Matt, Lori, and family call Angwin (Howell Mountain) home and remain on evacuation warning. Beginning today, Matt will be volunteering 12 hour days at the Napa County Emergency Operations Center in relief of those already exhausted. Currently no fires have been reported in Napa County, however a major "wind event" (the second in three days) has been forecasted for today and into Wednesday, causing quite a bit of uncertainty in Sonoma, Napa, and Lake Counties. Basically everyone is on high alert. Our neighbors to the south, in Los Angeles, are also dealing with their own incident, the Getty Fire.

Current numbers on Kincade via Cal Fire:

75,415 acres burned 15% contained 124 structures destroyed 180,000 people evacuated NO fatalities!

Thank you for your messages, thoughts, and prayers! Today seems to be a pivotal day in the fight against the Kincade Fire, with major winds expected. Our thoughts are with all who have been impacted by these fires.

We are extremely grateful for the first responders who have done nothing but an exemplary job of keeping our homes, properties, and communities as safe as they have.

We will be back in touch once things have calmed down. As always, we will do our best to respond to phone calls and emails in a timely manner.

In so many ways, thank you for your support!

All our best,

The Lamborns
